Hello Everyone,
The loving-kindness meditation was extremely difficult to follow because of the tone in the people that were guiding the meditation, also it sounded like they were reading off the book as they were guiding, that made it extremely difficult to follow and concentrate during the meditation, and I was ready to relax! So I would definitely not recommend this specific meditation to others because of what I previously mentioned but I would be willing to do it again maybe with other voices guiding me.
According to Dacher (2006) “mental workout” means utilizing contemplative practices such as “loving-kindness” and “subtle mind” to help calm the mind’s constant mental activities and train it along with opening one’s heart and expanding consciousness, and progressing towards psychospirtual flourishing.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Hi Claudia
ReplyDeleteI had a difficult time also but used a tool to help me out. I held my puppy to get started. Once in teh spirit it got easier. Maby you could use a catalyst to help you "get in teh mood" for meditation. It is hard to let go of life even for a little while but for our own health we must try.
Have a great week
Hey Claudia,
ReplyDeleteI to had difficulty with this assignment but after I was able to focus I accomplished the task at hand. That is a great idea scott to have a catalyst because that could definitely get you in the spirit of things. Great post and best of luck with everything!

Hi Shana,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you didn't enjoy this week's exercise. I tried to focus on the positive side and penetrate on what I could learn from inhaling others sufferings and exhaling joy, happiness, and peace for others. There are so many people out their that are full of pain and discomfort, not only physically but emotionally, as well. I hope that my loving- kindness can be expressed and shared to others through a genuine conversation and smile.
